A NEW ENDING

After Okonkwo committed suicide the word sooned traveled and landed right in Nwoye's ear. It wasn't surprising at all that Nwoye was estactic! Even though Okonkwo was his father he had put so much fear in him that he actually felt relieved of his father's death. Nwoye returned home and took care of his family and raised his new family there as well. He was a wise man and the people soon looked at him the way they looked at Oberika.

Research

After becoming interested in Fredrick Douglass' narrative I also became interested in what kind of life his children had. After researching about his kids I became interested with his only daughter. I was intrigued by the fact that Rosetta Douglass at the age of nine was refused to attend an all white girls' school. Fredrick Douglass fought with words to get his daughter in that school. When Rosetta was finally admitted, it was not how she expected it to be. She had to study in a room all by herself and she was kept apart from the other kids at recess.

To find this information out I typed in Frederick Douglass' children in the search engine. I retrieved information on all of his kids. However, Rosetta interested me the most. I decided to do my research on her because I felt like her incident made Frederick Douglass and his daughter stronger.

What I learned from this activity is that everyone and anyone can be as creative as they want. IF you actually take the time out to read your imagination can go very far. I enjoyed writing about the story and I definitely enjoyed reading other blogs.

The sequel

I cried for the last time lastnight. They were not tears from sorrow or pain, but tears of joy. I realized that everything is going to be just fine. When my husband walked through the door from watching his brother Sonny perform I could see on his face that something good had happened. He was grinning from ear to ear and he resembled pictures of himself as a young child. He said "Isabel, I love you", in a voice that I had not heard in long time. My husband does not know what kind of stress he has put me under through the years. He did not know that he let Sonny's problems take over his life and interfere with our marriage. However, I love my husband unconditionally and I stayed by his side through it all.

Six months later...........Now that our marriage is healthy again we are expecting something beautiful. I'm pregnant with a healthy baby boy that we named Sonny. As far as Sonny, he is married now and his wife is also pregnant with a baby girl that they named Gracie. That meant so much to me. I no longer have my nightmares, I no longer have to be depressed about my husband, and most importantly, I no longer have to worry.

SONNY'S BLUES

I enjoyed reading Sonny's Blues because I feel like anyone can relate to this story if they have ever had an obstacle to overcome. Unfortunately Sonny's obstacle was heroin and he needed to learn how to love his life. He was very fortunate to have such a loving brother. Although they did not always see things the same his brother was there for him. Sonny's dream was to become a musician but his brother saw fit for another route, which was for him to finish school. However, Sonny did not finish school instead he went off to the navy. Once he returned he became more serious about his music. His brother finally accepted his dream and went to see him perform. That performance changed both of their lives, realizing that trouble was no longer an option.
