SONNY'S BLUES

I enjoyed reading Sonny's Blues because I feel like anyone can relate to this story if they have ever had an obstacle to overcome. Unfortunately Sonny's obstacle was heroin and he needed to learn how to love his life. He was very fortunate to have such a loving brother. Although they did not always see things the same his brother was there for him. Sonny's dream was to become a musician but his brother saw fit for another route, which was for him to finish school. However, Sonny did not finish school instead he went off to the navy. Once he returned he became more serious about his music. His brother finally accepted his dream and went to see him perform. That performance changed both of their lives, realizing that trouble was no longer an option.
